freedom

Longing for that which is impossible is pointless, they all knew it but still did nothing but dream of what they could have. How they dreamed of being far from here lost in all of the wonders of the world but alas despite the attempts of escape the only freedom they had was held in the words of books and stories.

Although when the real world hit them they soon realised that the world they had painted so long ago, the escape plan they made and truths they held were nothing but a trap. The longing they shared now reversed into the need to escape this world that they once dreamed of. However pointless it seemed they didn't give up fighting.

The fight didn't last long. They soon realised the escape they made was more of a jail sentence than freedom, they became prisoners of their own minds unable to share the stories they once built together. the worlds they created with the imagination they once shared burned as their minds started to darken.

Real life was not the freedom they had longed for so long ago, they wanted to become what the world saw as heros play pretend for a time with people they seen on TV but the world was unkind to the gentle souls and the chances and choices were so limited. People in the world would talk daily about how the vast amount of choices often left people lost in wonders but they couldn't see it. The wonders of words became the wounds they shared, the longed freedom disappeared and words no longer were spoken.

They, like so many others that shared their dreams, were lost to the world that they had dreamed of, snatched by the freedom that had always held them captive. The freedom was forgotten.
